AI has impacted our lives in many aspects. It changed the way we consume content and generate content. Leonardo AI, a paid AI tool for text to image generation, is nowadays in trend. Many Content creators are using this tool for Realistic, 3D and cinematic images but, not everyone wants to be paid for AI tool everyone wants alternates and similar tools. The paid subscription of Leonardo AI is about $20 to $60 as per your plan. But, wait for a while, what if I tell you there are Leonardo AI like tools through which you can generate same type of results. In addition, I will share my personal insights and some techniques.
Note; I have placed these tools in Alphabetical order, it doesn’t mean that a tool written in the first is more powerful than the others. All tools are completely free for text to image generation.

Top 5 Leonardo AI like tools.
Stable Diffusion.
Stability AI, a company founded by Imad Mustaque in 2019 launched their first AI model named as “Stable Diffusion”. It was launched in August 2022. From the beginning it gained a lot of popularity because it was one of the very First AI tools. It is an Open Source AI image generator. This tool is very popular because, it’s an open source secondly, it is completely free to use you can generate images like professionals.
Let’s test it will provide a simple command to it and see the results and try to analyze the Results, I will paste the given prompt in the tool.

Here is the result, of the command that, I have given. You can yourself see the output. Literally, the output is very much realistic and eye-catching. But, there are some, limitations in this tool you can generate only 7 to 10 images per day.

Image FX by Deep Mind.
Google has launched numerous AI and business tools in last decades from GEMINI to Image FX every tool is so much amazing and Cost friendly. One of my favorite tools which I personally use for Blogging is Image FX, it as AI tool owned by a Google’s Daughter company, Deep mind. It was launched in Feb. 2024.
Initially, it didn’t get much recognition and still, it is so underrated AI tools but, its capabilities are mind-blowing. I will share its image generation result on the same prompt mentioned above.
Even I personally, use this tools for my most of the blogs. What you have to give is a right command. I have used Leonardo AI like many tools but, not much satisfied like Image FX results. What you have to give is a right command, The output will be decent. This tool is the closest Leonardo like tool for image generation. Playground AI.
Playground AI was launched in October 2022 by Suhail Doshi. It is a free tool that allows users to create and edit images using Stable Diffusion. Playground AI is not owned by a huge company, it’s result, of a small startup which’s initial motto was to allow users to get rid of paid tools. You can create designs, Logos, and many image related stuff through Playground AI. There are also many pre-made templates which you can use manually.
My review about this tool is that it is far better and provide decent results but, it is suitable for designers and fashion related professional those who are in Tech field will not be much satisfied.
4. Runway ML.
Runway ML is New York based, owned by three friends. This AI tool was launched in 2019. Runway ML revolutionized the field of AI as it was the first AI tool which was used in Film making for better results. Runway ML collaborated with Stable Diffusion and gained a lot of popularity when they added text to image feature. This tool generates text to image in addition, this provides a feature of, image to video. There are some results of Runway ML.
As above, I have just given a simple prompt, additionally this tool converted my text to an image and image to a video. This is one of the Leonardo AI like tool which can generate text to image and image to video
My personal review on Runway ML is that this tool is the most relevant Leonardo AI like tool. But, it is only relevant to those who are in the field of film making and production houses. Video makers have the best option after Leonardo AI is this tool.
5.DALL-E by Open-AI
DALL-E is an AI tool launched by Open AI in August 2023. This AI is simply integrated with ChatGPT whenever any person asks ChatGPT to generate images, ChatGPT shifts to DALL-E. DALL-E generates decent quality results but not, much satisfying. As you can be below, the same prompt we had pasted in other tools.
ChatGPT provide far better results but, you need a high command ability in simple commands it generates useless images, although these are still usable because, these are free. Chatgpt-4 generate images with better saturation and more realistic.
